On 13 May 2026, organised by the school’s Youth League Committee, a group of students and teachers from Ningxiang Meihua Middle School stepped out of the classroom for a special social-practice outing: a visit to the Kepma guitar factory. The aim was to let students experience the appeal of modern Chinese instrument manufacturing up close, hear the story of a local entrepreneur and be inspired to pursue their own dreams.
Into the production line: from raw timber to a finished instrument

On the day, Kepma founder Peng Jinhui warmly welcomed the visitors. Guided by Mr Peng, the students walked through Kepma’s modern workshops and saw each stage of guitar production in turn.

From strict selection and cutting of raw timber, through precision machining and shaping, to final sanding and assembly, the students followed the complete journey of a guitar “from a block of wood to a beautiful instrument”. In the spacious, bright workshops, efficient automated equipment and a rigorous, scientific approach to manufacturing showed the visitors the strength and appeal of modern Chinese instrument making.

A conversation about dreams: from a small village in Ningxiang to the forefront of the industry

The panel discussion after the tour brought the event to a warm high point. As a fellow native of Ningxiang, Mr Peng shared, in plain andsincerewords, the bond with the guitar that haslastedfor decades.

He spoke about a musical dream born in a small village in Ningxiang, Hunan, and how he overcame many difficulties to build Kepma into one of the most watched Chinese instrument brands today. This journey from ordinary beginnings to excellence moved every student in the room and drew warm applause.
Rooted in home: giving back with industry-leading capacity

Mr Peng also talked about Kepma’s deep connection with its hometown. In 2021 Kepma began investing in a factory in Hunan, and in 2025 production officially moved back to Hunan. Today the fully upgraded factory leads the industry in scale and in modern, data-driven manufacturing capability. It is an important milestone for the brand and a concrete way of giving back to the hometown and helping upgrade local industry.

The visit gave the students of Ningxiang Meihua Middle School a lively “industry practice lesson”, broadening their horizons and showing them the beauty of modern industry; through the founder’s genuine and inspiring story, it also planted a seed of courage to pursue dreams and strive for excellence. Kepma will stay true to its original aspiration, keep improving through precision manufacturing so that more people can enjoy music, and looks forward to seeing more young people from its hometown create their own wonderful lives.
