Career Highlights

Tony Guo was born on March 14, 1987 in the Jiangbei District of Chongqing. A graduate of Sichuan International Studies University, he is proficient in both guitar and drums. He founded the Dongni (Tony) Music training centre chain, chairs Chongqing Dasile Education Co., and serves as Review Director of the UK-based CIP International Certification Association.

In 2012, together with Xu Ke and Wu Xi, he formed the band 璨乐团 as its guitarist and released the single “The Taste of Chongqing”. In 2013 he was invited by Times Fengjun to coach the TF family band TFBAND, completing three music videos including “Onion” with Wang Junkai and Wang Yuan. In 2014 he formed the international band The Candid Skanks — with members from Ireland, Scotland and the USA — as its drummer.

In 2015 he attended the NAMM Show in Anaheim and the TEC Awards in Los Angeles, exchanging ideas with Eric Johnson, Richie Sambora and Slash, and travelled to New York to study jazz. He also studied at the Musicians Institute (MI) in the USA, training systematically in contemporary music production and performance.
