Musical journey & creative background

Casper Esmann combines original writing, arrangements and touring. Quandary, released in 2020, is his sixth studio album; he was a finalist in MusicRadar’s 2018 Acoustic Guitarist of the Year competition.

Fingerstyle Blueprint teaching project

Casper Esmann also created the online course Fingerstyle Blueprint. Its official description lists 30 episodes averaging around five minutes each, progressing from first steps with the instrument to more advanced fingerstyle techniques. It documents his teaching work alongside his recordings and performances.

Casper Esmann, born December 7, 1992 in Slagelse, Denmark, is one of Scandinavia’s most popular fingerstyle guitarists. Introduced to the piano by his mother as a child, he discovered Tommy Emmanuel at the age of 14 and immediately took up the guitar — and since no fingerstyle teachers existed in Denmark at the time, he taught himself by ear from CDs and live DVDs.

Casper has performed on Denmark’s TV2, at festivals and on international tours. His work includes solo fingerstyle concerts and collaborations with other musicians.

Awards & Recent Highlights

Finalist of MusicRadar’s “Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” 2018, performing his original “D-Day” live at the London Olympia
Continues to release acoustic instrumental arrangements including Iris, Hey There Delilah, Fireflies and the only exception.
In March 2026, he shared the stage with Dutch fingerstyle guitarist Eddie van der Meer in Guangzhou, China

His sixth studio album, Quandary (October 2020), is available worldwide on Spotify, Apple Music and other major platforms.
