TRY & BUY
Ask a dealer about specifications and pricing, or visit a nearby store to hear and feel it for yourself.
Use specifications to narrow your choice, and let your ears and hands have a say.
Start with your budget, a comfortable fit and how the strings feel, then compare sound. If possible, play the same passage on each guitar and check tuning, fret buzz and workmanship. Price and wood grades cannot replace hands-on experience.
Solid-top usually means a solid wood top with laminated back and sides. All-solid usually means the top, back and sides are solid wood. Construction, setup and craftsmanship also matter; an all-solid label alone does not determine the right guitar for you.
D bodies are usually larger, GA suits a range of playing styles, and OM often feels more compact to hold. Brands and models vary, so use these categories as a starting point for trying guitars.
If you often perform or rehearse through an amplifier, pay attention to the pickup system. For practice mainly at home, acoustic sound and comfort can take priority.
