Aoi MichellE is a Japanese acoustic guitarist based in Tokyo. She began learning the piano at the age of three and took up the guitar at fifteen. After studying recording engineering at a vocational school, she launched her music career as a singer-songwriter under the name “Aoi MichellE.”
In 2017, seeking to expand her musical expression, she transitioned from singer-songwriter to acoustic guitarist, focusing on conveying her musical world solely through the guitar—without lyrics or vocals. On June 24, 2021, she released her debut all-instrumental guitar album, Memories Melodies, featuring five tracks.
Throughout 2022, Aoi MichellE remained active on the music scene, holding regular solo concerts in Tokyo and embarking on a five-week street performance tour in London. She also set her sights on international activities. In 2023, she adopted the stylized name “Aoi MichelE” and launched a continuous series of single releases alongside her solo concert schedule. That November, she undertook another street performance tour, this time in Sydney.
In 2024, she successfully produced a new album—Beat! Beat! Beat!, released on September 24—after raising 2,848,500 yen through crowdfunding.
Her musical style, which blends acoustic guitar performance with deep emotional expression, has garnered widespread attention both in Japan and abroad.
